

Linford Ashton Wray was born on November 28, 1932, in Montego Bay, Jamaica. In 1957, he migrated to London, where he worked for London Transit and proudly served in the Royal Air Force as a radar mechanic from 1959 to 1961. Upon his discharge, Linford began working with Decca Radar in Wandsworth, London.
In 1964, Linford relocated to New York City, where he worked for Pan American Airways at John F. Kennedy Airport. He was also employed by the New York Telephone Company in Brooklyn. In 1976, Linford made his home in Miami, Florida, where he worked for the City of Opa-Locka until 1991. He later joined the University of Miami Police Department, serving with dedication until 1993. Following this role, he worked for Miami-Dade County, retiring in 2003 after a long and accomplished career.
Linford was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his children: Linford Ashton Wray Jr., Everett “Alex” Wray, Leonie Annis Greene, and Lee A. Fong-Hong. His legacy lives on through his nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Linford will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his community, and his remarkable journey through life.
A visitation for Linford will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South, 11655 SW 117 Ave, Miami, Florida 33186. Following the visitation will be a burial at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Park South, 11655 SW 117 Ave, Miami, Florida 33186.
