

He was born on April 26, 1938, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Edmond Arthur Howell and Elizabeth Greer. He was one of several siblings: Mary (Rosalie) Williams (deceased), Jocelyn Howell, Jessie Lavery, James (Jimmy) Howell (deceased), Eileen Alvaranga, Merlene Chin, and Myrna Buitron.
Louis graduated from St. George’s College in Jamaica. He found great joy in fishing and cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
From his first marriage to Vilma Williams, Louis was blessed with three children: Mark, Andre, and Nicolle. He also had a son, Sean Howell, with Sybil Young. He found love again when he met and married Beverley Pottinger-Howell and through this union was blessed with another son, Nicholas.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverley, his five children, seventeen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his beloved “grandson of the heart,” Jean Claude, and his special niece, Cheryl Howell-Alvarez. His surviving daughter/son in-laws include Kim Howell, Damian Teixeira, Rose Howell, and Estela Giullen.
Louis was preceded in death by his siblings Rosalie and Jimmy, as well as his stepson, Stephen Pottinger.
Louis Granville Howell’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
