Luis, cojones con salsa verde! We still talk about you all the time.

Luis was a very special person.  He was full of JOY and once you met him, you never forgot him.    
He left a beautiful legacy of 4 incredible men,  8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  

I image you marching into the light like a triumphant gladiator.

You've finally come home to stay and all is forgiven.



We first met in 1999...twenty years later, we would meet again only to confirm that your whole life was full of spontaneous moments, and a quest for happiness. You were unwavering in your willingness  to help others, and bring people together. You were the best defense attorney to the world’s underdogs; and, nothing was too difficult or impossible to help me, my daughters, or anyone else. I will  miss you for your kindness, joy, and humility. You never judged,  and you were always quick to  forgive those that judged you.  It was an honor to be by your side. Until we meet again...

It would seem that Luis and I could not be more different--but we were the closest of friends for decades. He was a man full of life, joyful, and he could destroy a kitchen making the most delicious food ever. He loved his friends and he was loyal to his many friends. I regret that our talks about taking a few trips will now not come true, but he is vivid in my memory. Here's a photo of Luis, who obtained a couple rat terrier pups and gave them to me.  They lived on, with their own puppies, for over twelve years. Another example of how Luis improved the life of those around him. And who can ever forget Casa Panza, flamenco with Celia and Paco, Luis in the Hollywood Hills, Luis on Calle Ocho yelling Azucar!
