

A visitation for Luz will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Sunset, 7355 SW 117 Ave, Miami, FL 33183. Following the visitation will be a committal service from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Dade South, 14200 SW 117th Ave, Miami, FL 33186.
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Luz Virgil, who left this world on April 22, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on June 5, 1936, Luz was a vibrant spirit whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she encountered. A true pillar of her community, she was known for her astute wisdom and nurturing heart, embodying the essence of love and compassion.
Luz's devotion to her family was unwavering, and she dedicated her life to nurturing those she cherished most. Her legacy is woven into the fabric of her family, who will forever treasure the countless memories they created together. Luz was not just a mother; she was a guiding light, a source of strength, and a wellspring of love that will continue to inspire her loved ones.
Her infectious laughter and delightful storytelling brought joy to many, and her sense of humor was a gift that brightened even the darkest days. Though we will miss her laughter and the warmth of her presence, her spirit will live on through the stories she shared and the smiles she inspired.
As we mourn Luz's passing, we also celebrate her remarkable life. We are grateful for the time we had with her, for the lessons she imparted, and for the enduring love she bestowed upon us all. Luz may have left us in body, but her impact will never fade, and her memory will remain etched in our hearts.
Luz Virgil is survived by her beloved daughters, Jennifer Modica and Denise Ruggiano (John Ruggiano), and her son, Jimmy Virgil (Dawn Lively Virgil). She was a proud grandmother to Yesenia Osborne, Erica Kaplan, Bryan Virgil, Dylon McMahon, Lissete Castro, Valerie Virgil, and Brandon Virgil. Luz is also survived by her cherished sisters, Carmen, Maria, Floralba, Rafeala, Ana, Francisca, Rosa, and her brother, Jona. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward: Josefina, Kimberly, Katy, Laydi, Danilsa, Yokasta, Juane, Mickey, Carlos, Alex, Lindo, Darwin, Wilkin, and Daleyka.
Luz was preceded in death by her parents, Malachia and Candida Liranzo; her husband, John Virgil; her brother, Dionicio; and her daughter, Madeline Rodriguez.
