She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Alejandro Canal, parents Alejo Deulofeut and Elizabeth Deulofeut Heinz and her brother Adolfo Deulofeut.
Magola enjoyed 56 wonderful years with her spouse Jose Canal before he passed away in 2006. Jose had started his own business in Barranquilla and Magola helped him run the shop. She had a knack for business and kept the shop flourishing when Jose left for New Jersey to look for new opportunities for his family in 1962.
She loved adventure and took the children to Bogota and all over Colombia by bus to visit new cities. She enjoyed the different cultures and food at each new place. She made sure the entire family and cousins (all 14 of them) visited the beach every Sunday packed into a small Jeep but not before attending Sunday mass. The beach never disappointed and always promised an endless supply of mangoes.
In 1985, Magola and Jose moved to Miami, Florida from Hackensack, New Jersey, where they laid their roots. Magola enjoyed making ceramics in her kiln (ceramic oven) and painting them. All of the grandchildren remember fondly picking out their own ceramics at her house followed by fresh mangos and guavas from her tree. She also liked to paint and enjoyed the time with her friends at the senior citizen's center.
All who knew Magola will remember her for her sweet nature, strong will, her soft heart and her gentle playfulness.
