Maida was the middle sister of Rosa Rosette and Mirta Brito and also had a younger brother, Manuel Bernal.
She was a beautiful woman, inside and out, and even won a local beauty pageant in Cuba and did some modeling for a hair dresser.
She finished high school and then married the love of her life, Arsenio Pazos. They had 3 children and in 1966 were exiled to Miami, where she worked several jobs.
She will be remembered for so many things, but mostly for her charming and witty personality.
She was a vibrant social butterfly and loved having family and friends get together all the time.
She was the life of the party, a great cook, and loved to wear the color red. One of her many talents was keeping in touch and maintaining her friendships and connections with everyone she knew.
She was a loving and devoted wife, doting mother, and was blessed to see 6 grandchildren grow up, and also hold two great-grandchildren in her arms.
Maida is survived by Arsenio Pazos (deceased), daughters Ima Pazos and Maria del Carmen Macia, son Archie Pazos, granddaughters Katrina Haughn, Monica Word, and Rebecca Pazos; grandsons Andrew Macia, Alexander Macia, and Kevin Macia; and great-granddaughter Ireland Haughn and great-grandson Indiana Haughn.
