Billy Joe Barnett

BARNETT, Billy Joe of Miamisburg, Ohio passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at 82 years of age, surrounded by his loving family at Kettering Medical Center. Mr. Barnett was born in Florence, Alabama May 7th 1932, the son of the late Lincoln T. and Anne (Bromley) Barnett, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lincoln T. Barnett Jr. and a sister, Betty Jean (Barnett) Peck. Mr. Barnett is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mrs. Sylvia A. (Hatley) Barnett; his sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Nagonda Barnett of Germantown, John and Teri Bertrand Barnett of Lebanon and Keith Barnett of Miamisburg; five grandsons, Joseph, Billy Joe, Matthew, Brandon Barnett and Shawn Steward; two granddaughters, Jessica Herrmann and Brittany Barnett; a great grandson, Joseph Michael and a host of nieces, nephews family and friends. Mr. Barnett’s career spanned 42 years in the paper industry retiring in December of 1992. His positions included production and sales with Moraine, Kimberly-Clark, Bergstrom and Appleton paper companies. Mr. Barnett was a member of the First Baptist Church of Miamisburg. He loved his family, fishing and young people. His loving personality and giving nature were an inspiration to all. Family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, December 15, 2014 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral service will begin 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 16, 2014 also at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Stephen Spurgin. Burial will follow at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church – Miamisburg at 323 N. Eleventh St., Miamisburg, OH 45342.
