David Lee Blair

BLAIR, David Lee, age 78 of New Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. David was born May 26, 1936 in Paintsville, KY to the late Nola Blair. He is survived by his children, David (Cathy) Blair of Lawrenceburg, KY, Susann (Mark) Barrett of Hilliard and Gloria Nicci Blair Sliemers of Grove City; grandchildren, Rhiannon, Ian, Stephanie and Alec and close friend Carolyn. David was a 1956 graduate of Paintsville High School and a Korean War veteran with the United States Army. He was a valued employee of DP&L for 36 years before retiring. David also served as a part-time peace officer for the Carlisle police Department and bartended for several local establishments including the VFW. He was also a Kentucky Colonel, member of the American Legion, VFW, Eagles and Moose and enjoyed following NASCAR, the Cleveland Browns and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. A Celebration Gathering will be held 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Interment of ashes will take place10:00 AM Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Dayton National Cemetery-Columbarium with military honors.
