

Age 71 of Centerville passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Sycamore Hospital. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to David J. and Virginia E. (Graham) Rammel on September 17, 1943. He was preceded in death by his father. Doug is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna (Freeman) Rammel; children, Jennifer M. Rammel and Janet L. (Thomas) Holthaus, both of Centerville. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jessica Brooks, Jayme (Logan) Patterson, Joshua and Jackson Brooks, Madeline Brendan, Samantha, Jacob and Nathan Holthaus; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Owen Ferdon, Emmalyn Patterson; sister, Marsha (Danny) Brockman of Miamisburg; brother, John Rammel of Middletown and Ed (Amy) Rammel of Broken Arrow, OK; many nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was a 1961 graduate of Miamisburg High School and retired from NCR after 40 years of service. He was a member of The Dayton Muzzle Loading Gun Club, the NMLRA , NRA and the OGCA. He enjoyed woodworking, metal working and was an all-around handyman. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Tuesday, February 3 at the Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home with a service to be held at the funeral home 10am on Wednesday, February 4. Burial at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doug’s memory to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, Ohio 45420.
