"Freddie"  and I first met at UD as freshman when we lived at the West Campus housing. Sorry, we lost touch, sorry we lost you. You were always a kindhearted, caring person. I will always remember that of you. God Bless you Freddie. God Bless your loving family.


I remember working with Mr. Gallo by being the Senior class Treasurer (1981 class).  Mr. Gallo always made sure the class officers knew their jobs, and had great expectations for our class goals and individual goals. He had no problems mentoring or getting students in line....he really cared for us and that's why the student body loves him.  Mr. Gallo will truly be missed. 

To Carolyn and family.  You have our deepest sympathy in the loss of Fred's presence.  He lives in your hearts and all the people whose lives were touched by such a good man. We remember a kind and gentle person who also liked to laugh a lot.  There are some special people that give so much to the world around them and Fred was certainly blessed with that ability.  Even though your hearts are heavy, remember that those who live in the Lord, never see each other for the last time.

On January 16th, we lost a true angel. Mr. Galo was one of those teachers that left a life long impression on u.  Yes, he taught History but prepared u for the future.  A successful future at that.  He not only taught myself. But my mom also n many of my aunts n uncles.  This is a sad day and my thoughts n prayers go out to the Gallo family n friends.😢❤️🙏 Mr. Gallo ur beautiful spirit will b missed dearly.  Thank u for being an inspiration and caring so much. I remember Mr. Gallo as my American History teacher at Jefferson Township High School.  I don't remember ever being bored in his class.  I learned a lot of history.  I still remember the term paper I wrote on Japanese American concentration camps when in his class.  I see that he impacted many lives during his time at Jefferson.  My sympathy to his family.

Mr. Gallo was great in my life we will all miss him at Jefferson he taught us all and not only what they teach us he was a friend he was a mentor he was all that and some,SMILING, It was a joy when I picked him up to take him to the hospital to his doctor's appointment I truly think about him all the time . Mr. Gallo was one of my favorite teachers. He definitely had a deep passion for teaching especially American History, he made you feel as though you were actually at the scene of what was unfolding! I had never taken so many notes in my life, I always carried an “A+” in his class. I loved to sew and Mr. Gallo was my first customer,  altering the hems of his suit pants. He was a great man. RIP Mr. Gallo🙏🏾

My heart is heavy right now at the thought of you not being amongst us any longer.  You My Dear Friend, Mentor and Life Lessons Teacher.  As Senior Class President I got to spend so much time with you just talking.  You telling me I had a voice in this world and that it would be a shame if I didn't use it was the best advice I've ever been given and to this day I make sure I am heard.  You were an inspiration to us all.  Our AP History class was always a blast.  You kept us interested and wanting to know more, and that Sir is what a Teacher strives to do.  You will truly be missed.  Do me one last favor, say Hello to my Grandmother and My other Mentor Mrs. Dorothy Smith.  Rest  Well

“Be prepared. Be organized. Be observant.” That was the advice Mr. Gallo gave me when I returned to Jefferson in the late seventies as a teacher-in-training to observe his classroom. That advice guided me well during my 35-year career as a history/social studies teacher.

  I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for you. I remember,  when nobody believed in me. You would always remind me how important I was, as a person not just an athlete. You believed I had a future, you knew I was more than touchdowns & passing the Paton....which gave me confidence to do my best even when I didn’t have the best success in the classroom...

  Nothing compares to a great teacher, nothing compares to a man who willing to give to those who do not have, helping those to get up when they are down. Never would I have thought I’d be in Education, inspiring young men/women to be their best self in a unforgiving world... 

You saw that for me, I’m greatful that you were a part of my journey to getting here.. you will be missed dearly by the hundreds of students, who walked the halls at JT...

Mr "G" I can't say that I loved history 😊 but it was the other lessons you taught on the side that made me want to learn. Your stories were both fun and valuable to carry for a lifetime, those of us at Jefferson High School and anyone else who was blessed to be in your presence. It's funny how life is. As youngsters, we were just trying to find our way. We didn't realize what we had standing before us on a daily basis, but as we are now up in age...what a gift! A gentle soul and a man of great compassion and patience! 😁 It is sad that you are no longer on this earth with your family and friends and all of the former students whose lives you've impacted, but dear teacher and friend, you have created a legacy that will live on forever! May GOD Bless and comfort Mrs. Gallo and the entire family! ⚘

Mr. G!!! Lord what a man! He had some of the most influential words of wisdom I ever received from anyone! 💯My Junior Year,  He told me before a game against Hamilton Badin that I had to become a leader. He said that it was my time now! “GROW UP”!! He said. Lead by example. That stuck with me. FOREVER! Thanks Mr. G! You were a difference maker!!

MR. Gallo taught theatrically, he made his lesson interesting and you never forgot what you were taught . His saying” my young friend “ . If you looked in the dictionary for teacher his picture should be there . He touched many and will be missed .

Fred was the teacher I always aspired to be. Don’t think I ever got there but my 8 years of teaching with him taught me about teacher /student interactions and just what it meant to be a teacher. He was always respectful to the students and they in turn were respectful to him. He was Mr. Bronco, a legend in the Township and when all is said and done just a good person , a great teacher and a good man. I am sure he is in heaven , sitting in front of some students lecturing all of “My Dear Friends”. You will be missed my good friend.

To Caroline and the family of Mr. Gallo.  As my high school American History teacher and senior class advisor for the Class of 1976 of Jefferson Township HS and as class president, Mr Gallo was a significant part of my high school career.  He made me realize why I never wanted to take a career involving American history.  But I am so grateful for his support and mentorship.  I thank you so much Caroline for letting a few members of the Class of 1976 to visit him in his latter years.  I enjoyed the visit and I am sure he did as well by the time he spent telling  the stories he told and the smile on his face.  He is at peace now.  May God be with you, Ms. Caroline and the family. I remember how excited I was to enter high school and have Mr. Gallo as a teacher because I heard so many great things about him when I was in middle school. He was one of the few people who inspired me to become an educator. Such a true example of what a great teacher is. He will be missed but the memories that I have of him will last forever.  c/o 89

Mr. Gallo was the best. In all these years I've never forgotten him. He helped me through my senior year when my mom was sick in the hospital.  He taught us with passion and he left a positive impression on every one who knew him.  RIP Mr. Gallo.  You will be missed!

Nothing but love and respect for Mr. Gallo! Taught two of my sisters and seemed as if he was waiting on me to get there.... Learn alot from Mr. G, best lesson out of the many I got was humility. We often had one on one conversation that I will never forget, love Mr G....

A Gem of a man. The Best teacher any student could ever ask for. This man touched so many lives and Jefferson High School was a better place because of him.
