He was born January 27, 1951 in Lexington, Kentucky, son of the late Patton and Lizzie (Hunley) Borders.
Gerald was a graduate of Salyersville High School. He retired from Dayton Progress after over 40 years of service.
Gerald is survived by his sons, Matthew Shane Borders and Michael Chance Borders; 5 grandchildren; and his brother, James E. Borders.
