

Age 99 of Miamisburg, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Sycamore Glen Health Center. He was born March 15, 1914 in Miamisburg to the late Jesse and Mayme (Jackson) Prugh. In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary (Lindsey) Prugh in 2003; his step-son, Bud Lindsey; sister, Nellie Gebhart and son-in-law, Odean Hensley (2001). He is survived by his step-children, James (Darlene) Lindsey of Lenexa, KS, Jane Lindsey of Miamisburg, Jeanne Hensley of Middletown and Joanne (James) Powers of Miamisburg; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren as well as other extended family and friends. Jesse was a graduate of Miamisburg High School and entered the service during WWII serving as a Tech Sergeant Top Turret Gunner for the US Army and later receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross commendation. Jesse retired from Frigidaire/GM after 30 years and also owned and operated Prugh’s Supply, ammunition and gun supply. He loved hunting, trap shooting, reading and working cross word puzzles and possessed a wonderful knack for remembering everything. Jesse was a member of Miamisburg Trap Shooting Club, NRA, VFW, Trinity United Church of Christ and a founding member of the Nuthampstead Airfield Museum. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon Wednesday, January, 29, 2014 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 Noon also at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Joel Getts. Burial will take place at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville with military honors.
