

BAILEY, Karen Lou (Gross), age 83, long time resident of Miamisburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. She was born August 13, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Donald E. and Mary Lou (Macke) Gross and was the sister of the late Richard M. Gross. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Curtis D. Bailey; daughter Cathy M. Nagy, husband Dan and granddaughters Sarah, Rachel and Jenna of Loveland, OH; son Brian P. Bailey of Dayton, OH and grandsons Dylan and Cameron. Also survived by sister Suzanne (late Arthur) Werts and brothers Timothy (late Janice) Gross and Jerome (late Barbara) Gross of Centerville, OH; nieces Lisa (Chris) Taylor and daughter Samantha; Michelle (Robb) Brown and children Avery, Tegan and Bowen; nephews Ken (Abby) Gross and Jonathan Werts.
Karen graduated in 1960 from Julienne High School and from the University of Dayton in 1965 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She began her teaching career at Immaculate Conception School in Dayton and in 1968 moved to the Beavercreek School District, until becoming a stay at home mom in 1971. As the children grew up she followed in her mother’s footsteps taking a retail position at Elder Beerman where she won several service awards. She was a member and multi-time President of the Our Lady of Good Hope Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a member of the bereavement committee lunch team.
Well known for her award-winning pie crust, she loved baking and was also an avid card player. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening and sewing, but most of all, time with her family and friends.
Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, December 14, 2025, at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM Monday, December 15 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, Miamisburg with Fr. Tom Nevels presiding. Internment will take place at Miamisburg Catholic Cemetery, lunch to follow in the Our Lady of Good Hope Parish Center.
