Sarah “Jeanie” (Schmid) Ray, 70, of West Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Sycamore Hospital.

She was born September 9, 1949 in Portsmouth, Ohio and was a 1967 graduate of Miamisburg High School. Jeanie worked for several years at Voss Chevrolet and Serra Chevrolet. She also volunteered at the West Carrollton Police Department. Jeanie enjoyed horses and her dog, Josie. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 48 years, Michael Ray; sons, Michael A. Ray and James (Laura) Ray; granddaughters, Maci and Ellie Ray; her mother, Velma Schmid; siblings, Sue (Maury) Rindler and Edwin (Rochelle) Schmid; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Omer & Patricia Ray; sister-in-law, Gwen (Tom) Scarborough; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Schmid.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 AM – 12:30 PM on Monday, September 30, 2019 at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral service will immediately follow at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton.

I worked at Monarch Credit Union and know Sarah and Mike from work. She was always very happy and pleasant and my heart goes out to the family.
