

Age 92 of Moraine, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his residence. He was born on December 24, 1921 in Winston Salem, NC to the late, Will and Hulda Speaks. Also preceding him in death is his wife, Viola Speaks; children, Donnie, Gary, Willie and Patty; grandsons, Dougie and Willie B. Speaks III. Burgie is survived by his loving children, Dickie Barnes, Cricket Jones, Brenda (Ed) Smith, Judy Brooks (Bill Banks); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joe Simpson and numerous friends. Burgie served as a medic in the US Army during WWII. He enjoyed spending most of his time playing the banjo, spoons and the French Harp. Burgie loved feeding the squirrels, especially Boo-Boo, and will always be remembered as the most generous, giving and kind hearted soul. Friends and family may visit from 5-7pm on Thursday, September 26 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, 508 East Linden Ave Miamisburg, Ohio 45342. Funeral service will be at 1pm on Friday, also at the funeral home, with Pastor John Swint officiating. Interment following at Hillgrove Cemetery.
