Billy Ray Cripple

Billy Ray Cripple 78, of Brunswick, Ohio died June 12, 2025 at Northwest Nursing Home from Pneumonia, and following a long illness. Born January 26, 1947 (a twin) in Davy, West Virginia. He was the son of the late William and Clara (Fairbanks) Cripple.

Mr. Cripple was a truck driver for many years. He worked in construction in West Virginia, California and Utah. He managed the Available Storage Facility in Fremont, California with his wife Debbie. He was well-known for playing Santa Claus annually in the parade for the city of Fremont. Many times the police of Fremont would call upon Mr. Cripple to help with the homeless. He could calm them down, get them to cooperate, then there was less conflict for the homeless and the police.

Father of John (Karen), Billy Ray Cripple Jr., stepfather to Michelle (Mike) Pratt. Grandfather to (step children) Bre-Anna Greer and Kaitlynn Pratt. Grandfather to Nathan, Rose, Brandon and Kayla. Mr. Cripple had seven siblings. He was preceded in death by Paul ( Virgie), Barbara (Ben), Sam (Sue), George (deceased) (Pat), Martin ( Candy). Survivors are Donna Isaacsen (beloved twin) of Idaho and Susie Flinchum ( Dennis) of Kentucky and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Cripple, like his father (Marine) and brothers (Marine and Navy) served honorably in the United States Navy.

A service and burial will be held on Wednesday July 2, 2025 at 1:15 PM, at Ohio Western Reserves National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273

He will be missed.
