I've known Greg since he was a young boy. My father was a police officer and would bring him around to go to baseball games with us or just hang out with myself and my three brothers. As time went on I see Greg riding around town with his buddies on their bikes just goofing and having a great time. As an adult my older brother took me to the West Side Market to show me how Greg had been gifted the stall from the previous owner. I was so proud and happy for him. He was a super fun friendly person and it made my heart swell to see him successful in life. When he was little he works at that stall before school probably after school as well then he would come to our house and hang out but he'd sleep on the couch and his little hands would be twitching because he works so hard in his arms are probably really tired. I hope his children read this and realize what a hard worker he had to be from a young age on. He loved his mom a lot and my dad told me that he was working hard so he could buy her a color TV when he was just like eight or nine. I'm not sure how Greg was it being married or a father but I know he tried his hardest always and if you're his children remember that. I don't think he had a good start in life but he really became successful feather was happy to meet him and see his success despite having a hard life growing up. He will be missed

Greg was a sweet kind man and allways treated his customer s so respectful and kind and he allways would say hey tammy how are you doin allways kept a smile on his face..the market is not the same anymore without you.rest in paradise greg.gone but never forgotten😥

Tina and family of Greg, there are not many people as genuine as Greg was. Always positive and always smiling. I was planning on attending today but the weather prohibited that. Please accept my deepest condolences and prayers.  May your favorite memories comfort you.

Greg’s infectious smile, his memory of family names and events always make it a pleasure to visit him and buy produce at the market. Greg will surely be missed.

I have been a regular customer of Greg's West Side Market stand since he took over the stand, as well as that of his son's and then fiancée's stands. He has literally sustained my life as a day does not go by in which I do not enjoy and thrive by his produce. Life is more than bread, though, and it was Greg's wonderful manner, honesty, hard work, and good cheer that sustained my loyalty. My sincere and deepest condolences to Greg's family and all who knew Greg, and therefore all who loved him. He will be greatly missed.

From Calabreeze's to his present stands, we followed and purchased produce from Greg for 27 years!  He always took care to knowing what you desired, introducing foods to us and always with that amazing smile:).  You are missed. We are loyal customers. I can’t even tell you how many times he was a ray of sunshine at the market. My heart is broken for his family & friends - and his WSM family. I am so shocked & sorry and will miss him. May his memory be a blessing.

We will always remember Greg with his signature perpetual ear to ear genuine smile. Such a kind gentle soul. His character and smile are permanently embedded into our hearts. Almost every week for over 34 years Denny would come home with a heartwarming tale of Greg. Denny watched him grow from the food terminal to owning the two best stands that the West side market has to offer. He was always so proud of his high quality produce and would save Denny the best pineapples ever. We don't eat a meal without some thing from Greg and Tina's  stands! Thanks for looking out for us.
