She was born in June 4, 1925 to Carlos and Della Hoskins in a poor coal mining/ farming town in Kentucky, one of 9 children, she survived polio as a child and longed for a better life. June married Homer Perry and moved to Ohio in the early 1940s.
June was a beautiful and loving mother to Vivian, Wanda Yvonne (deceased), and Richard (deceased). June joined Bethel Temple Church, attending 3 services a week. She could be found holding babies in the nursery, teaching Sunday School, volunteering with the women’s ministries. She also led the girls Missionettes ministries for over 20 years.
June cared for her mother Della until her passing at the age of 101, she was a wonderful and caring grandmother to 8: Norine, Yvette (Frank), Paul, Tim, Rob, Mark, Eddie, and Alice. She lovingly bragged of her 6 great-grandchildren: Doug (Alison), Logan, Kyle, Talon, Chelsea, and Christian. She was blessed to have 2 great-great grandchildren: Mercy and Ikora. June loved her family more than anything. She also enjoyed gardening and canning her own vegetables. She was famous for her chicken dumplings and zucchini bread and in her wilder days drove a GTO!
She will be missed by all that knew her, her devotion and dedication to God and Church led her to touch many, many lives.
