I am so sad to hear of Pat’s passing.  I had the privilege of working with Pat at East Park Care Center.  He was so kind, caring and so much fun to work with!!! The world was a better place with him in it!  My deepest sympathy to Maureen and his family.  You will be in my prayers🙏

I am sending my deepest sympathy to the family of Pat Gareau. I had the privilege of working with Pat for many years.  I found his warmth, his compassion and his dedication especially impactful. He was a strong advocate for the families we serve and went out of his way to support our work and efforts.
While I know he will be missed , l am rejoicing in his peaceful transition and his ascent into Glory.  May your memories and his legacy sustain you in the days and months to come.

I'm going to miss seeing Pat here at St. Augustine Manor where I'm a resident at. He was always so friendly & very nice to talk to. I'm going to miss not seeing him anymore.  My condolences to his family. Rest in Peace, Pat.

On my second day at Catholic Charities Pat came up to me in the hallway at St Augustine and he already knew my name. I was pretty amazed. He made me feel like I was an important part of the ministry that we do here at Catholic Charities, and that made me want to work even harder for him. He is a great egg and will be missed.

I’m deeply saddened to hear this news. I was fortunate to grow up frequently visiting the Gareau house, sleeping over countless evenings, and even being invited on some of the family vacations. As a child, I knew Mr. Gareau to be a kind, gentle, and soft-spoken man who always made me feel welcome among his family during these visits. Last year, Mr. Gareau extended a personal favor to ensure a member of the Saint Collette’s clergy visited my mother while she was in the hospital. This gesture was a moment of comfort for my family during an extremely stressful week and I will never forget it. I’ll remember Mr Gareau for this moment of kindness and for so many other memories over the years. My deepest sympathies and all my love are with the family.

I had the honor of working  with Pat for a long time at Catholic Charities.  I am a therapist at Catholic Charities and had numerous occasions to talk to him and attend meetings and events with him. He was a wonderful Director of our Agency and he cared deeply for our clients and his staff. Pat was a true gentleman and was always kind, compassionate,friendly and caring. He was a man of his word and would do anything for his staff and the people we served. I am sending my warm thoughts,  sympathy and prayers to Pat's family. May he rest in eternal peace...he earned it.

My favorite memory of Uncle Pat was when I Pulled him over because his license plate said “Gareau”. I came up to his window and he was so mad!   He said “you little SH$&!  You scared the heck outta me!”   He was so funny.  He will be missed.

Pat was a champion of this community, especially the vulnerable.  Under his leadership, services flourished.  The community of Northeast Ohio is so lucky to have had him on our side.

A great guy who will be missed by many. I knew him when he was president of St. Augustine Health Ministries and then CEO of Catholic Charities. Pat was always friendly and very humble. He made a big difference in the lives of everyone he met.  He especially cared for the elderly and those who were disabled. St Augustine, Catholic Charities, his family and friends lost a great man.
