Linda Lee Kapcar (nee Tomlinson), age 80, beloved wife of 59 years to George R.; loving mother of Elaine Coffey, Brad Kapcar, and Greg Kapcar (Sally); dearest ‘grammy’ of Casey Coffey (Kelli Byrd); and cherished friend of many, passed away April 8, 2023.
Linda was born in Lakewood, Ohio (1943) to the late Donald L. and Iris O. Tomlinson (nee Morrow). She performed as a majorette at and graduated from Lakewood High School (1961), then attended Kent State University before marrying George, the love of her life, and then channeled her passion raising their three children. She became active in Strongsville City School District’s PTA and served several years as president. After her three children graduated high school, Linda embarked on a decades long career at Strongsville High School serving as study hall monitor and building aide. She loved nature and animals, especially her family dogs Penny and Muffin (both deceased); grand dogs Benji, Faith, Sasha (all deceased), and Cookie; and adopted grand dog, Bubbles. In addition to family and staying in touch with friends, Linda enjoyed retirement and remained active through several ministries at Strongsville UCC, leading the weekly collection and distribution of bread and pastry to community members in need.
