

Born in Cleveland, OH, Marty was the son of the late Martin (Barney) Gray and Hattie Gray. A proud US Army Veteran, Marty served in Vietnam for 1968 – 1969 where he received the Meritorious Service Medal against Communist Aggression in Vietnam, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze service stars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation and the Meritorious Unit Commendation. He was a proud member of Plumbers Local #55 for 60 years and was very active in many positions in the local including managing the Plumber’s Softball Team and was a Business Representative from 1988 – 2004 when he retired. Marty was a Hall of Fame Member for the Ohio State Boxers Association, 2 time Ohio State Drag Racing Champion 1962 & 1963, a Lifetime Member of the American Legion and a Member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
Survivors include his loving wife, Charlene F. Gray of Murrells Inlet, SC; sons, Martin E. (Gina) Gray, Curtis S. Gray and Shawn P. (Tara) Gray; grandchildren, Nick Gonzales, Rick Gray, Victoria Gray, Patrick Gray, Micky Gray and Brycen Gray (deceased); great granddaughter, Avianna Gray; siblings, James Gray, Marilyn Gray Nativio (Rudy Nativio, deceased), Kathleen Gray (Donald) Mocarski, Tommy (Patty) Gray and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday - February 9, 2022 from 6 - 8 PM at THE A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEGIHTS, OHIO 44130 (WEST of I 71)
