My belated and most heartfelt condolences to the Family of Ron Bohanek .Ron and I worked together at the Sheriff's Dept. for approx. 10 years.   I had the opportunity to speak to Ron earlier in 2021, however, sadly it was at another former CCSD employee's funeral.  It was nice to catch up and share a number of memories regarding our experiences at CCSD. May you rest in peace and to your Eternal Memory.

Deepest Condolences to the Family of Captain Bohanek. I had the pleasure of working with Cpt Bohankek during our career at Northeast. He was one of our best leaders. He kept the shift in order when he was the Leader and he was always firm, fair and consistent in own quiet way. He was always patient and encouraging when he took us to the range to qualify. He was just a joy to work with and that just can't be said about everyone. He was special to us. God Bless You All as He watches over you all in Spirit now. Ron Bohanek and I were in Vietnam together in 1965-1966 in A Company, Second Battalion of the 12th Cavalry Regiment, First Cavalry Division (Airmobile). As an elite unit, we were never far from the enemy and Ron was a reassuring presence-dependable, loyal, brave, and a true friend and comrade.  Whether we were in a rice paddy a jungle trail or a landing zone, Ron was ready with his machine gun or a much-needed joke.  I always felt better when he was nearby.
Ron was an exemplary veteran and friend.  He was so proud of his wife and son, Judy and John. He came to Portland a few years ago to see me and my wife. He was charming as always and made a great impression on all who met him.   I shall miss him so.


My sincere condolences to the Bohanek family. Ron and I worked together during his employment at the Northeast Reintegration Center. Ron was a very good hearted person as he quickly promoted up through the ranks. He treated both staff and incarcerated as though they were decent human beings. Ron, I thank you for your service to our country and as a Retired Warden, I thank you for your service to the state of Ohio and the Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. Your contributions has impacted many lives. May your soul forever rest in peace.

Rest peacefully, Cousin Ron Bohanek.  You will always be my "Larger than Life" Hero.  Without your love and guidance, I would never have met Joe Fazekas.  Your smile, laugh, strength and courage will always be with us.  One of my favorite memories, is sitting in your brother David's backyard watching you teach a 5 year old MarZie Fazekas magic card tricks.  The love and sparkle in your eyes watching her will be in my heart forever.  Till we meet again, I love you my Cousin.
