Wallace Smith

WALLY “ROD” SMITH, age 81, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and those who have gone on before him on March 28, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Beverly (nee Sears); father of Lucinda Noel (Rick), Eric Smith, and Wallace Smith Jr.; grandfather of Stacey, Adam, Marshall, Lincoln, and Kennedy Paige; loving son of the late Gordie “Chuck” and Annie Fry Smith; and caring brother of the late Freeman, Wandall, and Martha Hepler.

Over the past year Wally suffered three strokes. He courageously fought to fully recover with physical, occupational, and speech therapies, along with several hospitalizations, and numerous doctor visits. Then with an added diagnosis of stage 4 cancer on March 12th, he was discharged from the hospital and quickly declined. He was cared for during his remaining days with the assistance of Hospice of the Western Reserve and passed with family at his side.

The family will receive friends MONDAY 4:00 – 6:00 PM with a funeral service at 6:00 PM in the A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH (West of I-71).  Interment will be private.
