William "David" Bobco

WILLIAM “DAVID” BOBCO, age 74. Beloved husband of the late Donna (nee Malley). Loving father of Rachel E. Erpenbach (Eric). Cherished grandfather of Sophie and Macey Erpenbach. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

William David (Dave) Bobco passed away in his sleep on February 9th, 2025 in Brooklyn Center, MN. Dave was born on August 19th,1950 in Washington, D.C. to William and Mary (nee Fifik). Shortly after birth, his family relocated to the Cleveland, OH area where he would grow up and spend much of his adult life.

He attended Byzantine High School in Parma, graduating early. He joined the Naval reserves and spent time in Cuba and sailed the Mediterranean with a stop in Greece, which made a lasting impression on him. After he was honorably discharged, he went to work at Ohio Bell where he installed telephone lines and other communication equipment. He worked his way into a managerial role until his position was eliminated during the Bell System divestiture.

Dave then worked in sales for several audio equipment vendors. Dave was always very interested in radio and audio production. He was the sound engineer at Baldwin Wallace College for many years and a longtime member of the Ohio Society of Broadcast Engineers. Combining his sound engineering skills with his interest in sports, Dave worked behind the scenes at many professional baseball, football, and basketball games. He would work to ensure the best sound production for the fans at home.

On June 3, 1972, Dave married Donna (nee Malley) and they were united until her death in 2012. At that time, Dave moved to Minnesota to be closer to his loving daughter Rachel. Dave is survived by his daughter Rachel (Eric) Erpenbach, granddaughters Sophie and Macey and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John Bobco and Peter Bobco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday February 19, 2025, 10 AM at St. John Bosco Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends on TUESDAY from 4 PM – 7 PM at the A. RIPEPI AND SONS’ FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OHIO 44130 (WEST OF I-71).
