

Karen Rae Johnston, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on February 24, 1947, Karen was the daughter of Joseph Ray Johnston and Doris Edna (McNutt) Johnston.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Ray Johnston, and her sister, Charma Gail Johnston.
A beloved daughter of Doris Johnston, proud mother of two daughters, Charma Bolin and Lori (Gary) Gross. Karen cherished her role and poured her heart into raising them. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Bradley (Ginelle) Schenck, Austin (Carly) Schenck, Kyle Bolin, and Samual Hudson, who brought her immeasurable joy. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Lizz Bolin, Azlynn Bolin, and Kyle Bolin Jr., who were the light of her later years and brought laughter and love into her life. She had a special bond with her sisters, Marsha Lovstrom and Jodi (Shawn) Parker, who were her confidantes and friends throughout her life. Karen's family also extends to numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving family members and friends.
Karen was a woman of many admirable qualities; she was caring, loving, and enjoyed her independence as well as time with family. She valued her personal appearance and could make any space as beautiful and warm as she was. She had a profound love for her family, pets, and watching hummingbirds come to her feeders. She enjoyed shopping and had an eye for interior design, which made her home a warm and inviting sanctuary.
Karen's bright eyes and warm smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
