Cruz Luera Reyes, 88, of Midland, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Cruz was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He retired from the City of Midland after 40 years.
Cruz was preceded in death by his wife, Consuelo Garcia Reyes, his parents, Merejildo and Eusebia Reyes, and brothers, Clyde Reyes, Augustine Reyes, and Bruno Reyes.
He is survived by his sons, Luis Reyes and wife, Rosa, Julian (PeeWee) Reyes and wife, Lupe, and Cruz Reyes Jr., all of Midland, TX; daughters, Linda Contreras and husband, Joe, Ramona Campos and husband, Joe, Hortencia Carrasco and husband, Jesse, all of Midland, TX; and daughter, Mary Helen Castilla and husband, Johnny of San Antonio, TX; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, four brothers, and three sisters.
Vigil will be Tuesday, June 19, 2012 with Rosary at 7:00pm at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 1906 W. Texas Avenue. Funeral and Mass will be Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 1:00pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1401 Garden Lane. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
