

He was born in February 12, 1955 in Siler City, North Carolina to Lebron Lee Thrift and Mary Elizabeth Thrift. He was raised in Pittsboro, North Carolina but moved to Texas shortly after marrying Denise S Williams in 1975.
Dennis worked in the construction industry in Midland for 42 years. He was working as a Construction Superintendent for MidTex of Midland, Inc. when he retired this year. He had been employed with MidTex of Midland for 25 years. He was well liked and respected by his peers.
Dennis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was so proud to be a Grandpa.
He enjoyed the lake and various water activities and was an avid motorcyclist. He loved motorcycle camping, participating in Iron Butt Long Distance Motorcycle Rides and just getting on his bike and riding. He was a member of the TTwisters Motorcycle Club and the Tall City Road Riders. Dennis never met a stranger and he made many friends while on two wheels.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Denise Thrift; son, Jeffrey Thrift and wife Valentina and, the light of his life, his grandson, Phillip Thrift of Allen, Texas. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley and husband Kenny Moore and Linda and husband Chad Ray and brother, Reid Hill all of Pittsboro, North Carolina.

There will be a visitation at Ellis Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at a later date at Hanks Chapel Christian Church in Pittsboro, North Carolina.
