

Edwin Morrell Stewart, 83, of Midland, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012. Morrell was born March 31, 1929 to Vernon Eugene and Vernon Eugenia Stewart in Natchez, MS. He joined the U.S. Army in 1949 and served as a Sergeant until he was honorably discharged in 1952. Morrell married Josephine (Jo) Cook on May 30, 1953 in Natchez, MS and moved to Midland, TX in 1955, where they raised their five children. They owned and operated M&J Construction. He is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Marie Stewart and grandson, Jeremy Morrell Stewart. He is survived by his children, Ed Stewart and his wife Kim of Brownwood, Texas, Vernon Stewart and Stephanie of Highland Village, Texas, Maureen Wells and husband Jimmy of Forney, Texas, Lynn Stewart Pope of Hondo, Texas and Rusty Stewart and wife Terresa of Andrews, Texas. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel from 6 pm-8 pm. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Brother Harvey Enriquez. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
