Joan was born on November 12, 1949 in Kermit, Texas to Paul and Jean Price. Paul’s work in the oil business moved his family around to different small towns in Texas, including Albany and Cisco, during Joan’s childhood. The family would settle in Burkburnett, Texas during Joan’s high school years and she graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1968. After graduation, Joan moved to Midland, Texas and started work at the Midland Central Appraisal District as a clerk while she attended business school. Joan would go on to work 42 years at MCAD before retiring in 2010.
In 1974, Joan married her sweetheart Adrian “Johnny” Hamilton, Jr. at First United Pentecostal Church in Midland. They enjoyed traveling, serving at church and listening to gospel music together. Joan loved her two sons, but the delight of her life was her four grandchildren. In her eyes they could do no wrong. Those who knew Joan were blessed. She had a sweet spirit, a soft answer, and a kind demeanor. She always looked for ways to quietly help others without anyone knowing about it. She was a Proverbs 31 woman and her joy was in the Lord. Her legacy will live on in those whose lives she touched.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Jean Price, and one nephew, Bryan Price.
Joan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Adrian; Son Brandon and wife Becky of Midland, Texas and their children Braylon and Blaine; Son Zane and wife Shelli of DeQuincy, LA and their children Maverick and Paislee; Brother Paul Gene and his wife Sherry of Garland, Texas; Brother Robert and his wife Kathy of Rowlett, Texas; and 18 nieces and nephews.
