It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Judith Paré. Beloved mother of 6, grandmother of 12, and “grape-grandmother” of 11. The “great” prefix was a pronunciation challenge for the young ones; it came out as “grape” and the moniker stuck!
Judith was 88 years old and lived a full and meaningful life marked by deep faith, love for her family, and a joyful spirit. Her passing less than two weeks before her next birthday liberating her to depart this world with a gift to return ‘safely home’, free of pain and the deteriorating health that had dominated the last several months of her life.
Born in April 1937 in Joplin, Missouri, she was raised by her parents, Paul and Nadiene Greene, with values that would guide her through nearly nine decades of life. Values built on faith, resilience, and devotion to others. Judith and her sister, Barbara spent their school years growing up in Roswell, New Mexico. It was here that Judith met and married her beloved husband, Louis Paré. They shared many years of marriage, moving among several different places associated with Louis’s work, until his passing in 1996.
In 1972, Judith made Midland her home, where she became a cherished member of the community. She was a faithful and active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, sharing her gifts for many years as part of the church choir. Her life was a beautiful reflection of service, enduring faith, and a heart for others.
Judith also carried a spirit of adventure throughout her life. She loved to travel and continued exploring the world even in her later years. She’s been to all 50 of the states, vacationed on Mexican beaches, taken cruises to Alaska, and as recently as fall 2025 was in Italy exploring the sights of Rome, the markets of Florence and the vineyards of Chianti. This last trip was to celebrate a grandson’s wedding which was held at a lovely Villa in Tuscany, an experience that reflected her enduring curiosity and joy. She was also artistic and thoughtful on many fronts; she painted, wrote journals, did glassblowing, proficient woodworker and built several pieces of custom furniture that reside in our family home.
A devoted mother, Judith, raised six children, Louis, Arthur, Deanne, Suzanne, Alan, and Jeanne, creating a legacy that continues through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy and her most treasured calling. She will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her steadfast faith, and the warmth and joy she brought into the lives of others.
Judith is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Nadiene Greene, her sister Barbara Coon, and her husband Louis Paré.
A private rosary service with members of the St. Ann’s choir and several close family friends was held on April 9, 2026.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life memorial to be scheduled and announced later.
