

Mrs. Qualls was born on April 6, 1914 in Nogalas, Arizona, to Anna Marie and James Robert Malaby. She grew up and went to school in Nogalas, Arizona. On October 9, 1934, she was married to Vernon Qualls. She moved to Texas and traveled all over with her husband who was FAA. Marie was an active member of St. Ann's Church, and spent many years actively working with the Altar Society. Her church was most important to her, and she helped in every way she could. She was a life member of the Metropolitan Guild and was voted Woman of the Year for her volunteer work by her sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, her sister, Esther Moore, and her brother, George R. Malaby.
Mrs. Qualls is survived by her daughter, Vema Marie Kropp and her husband, John of Dallas, Texas, and her niece, Angie Clowers of Round Rock, grandchildren, Barbara Nichols of Midlothian TX, Pamela Rodgers of Dallas, David Krope of Garland TX, Valery McKenna of Spokane, WA , two great nieces, and great nephew.
A Rosary Service will be held at Ellis Funeral Home on Monday July 8, 2013 at 7:00 pm. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on, Tuesday July 9, 2013 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
