She was born on January 11, 1930, in New Orleans, La. to Sicilian immigrants. She married Manuel A. Sirgo, Jr. on September 30, 1950, and moved with him through his career with Texaco to New Iberia, La., back to New Orleans, then to Midland and Houston. After her husband retired, they moved back to Midland to watch their grandchildren grow up.
She, along with her husband, taught her children to love their country, to educate themselves, and to be courteous and generous to others. She raised them to love God and to be strong in their faith. She instilled a work ethic and independence in each of her children. No one ever went hungry around her house and her famous meatballs were enjoyed by family, and friends alike. She had an uncanny ability to know when her children were misbehaving or in trouble. Much to the consternation of her children. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Santo and Anna Bevinetto D’Arcangelo, and her five older brothers, Joe, Philip, Bennie, Sal, and Vic. She is survived by her five children, Sharon, Manny (Kay), Victor (Sharla), Brian (Suzanne), and Eric (Nancy); her 13 grandchildren: Blake, Will, Grant, Emily, Nathan, Sam, Mary, Matthew, Sarah, Hannah, Sophie, Audrey, Alex, and her 11 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Manor Park Helen Greathouse assisted living, the Home Hospice aides, and her sitters for their care of our Mother.
