He served his country in the US Navy as a damage control petty officer. Richard married Carlota Munoz on September 11, 1980 in Midland. He retired from Midland College after many years of service to them. Richard enjoyed family time and had a love for animals, especially his dogs and cats.
Richard is survived by his in-laws, Henry Munoz and wife Maria of Midland, Tomas Munoz and wife Flora of Midland, William Munoz and wife Isabel of San Angelo, David Munoz and wife Linda of New Braunfels, Margarita Reyes and husband Carlos of Madison, WI, Mary Ann Vasquez and husband Robert of Dallas, Luis Munoz and wife Amparo of Aguescalientes, Mexico, and Imelda Swicegood; numerous nieces and nephews; and he was “Grandpa” to Alani and Elenita.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carlota M. Kellogg; and parents, Elmer and Minnie Kellogg.
The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, June 5, 2023 from 4-8 PM at Ellis Funeral Home with the Rosary at 7 PM. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 2 PM at St. Stephen's Catholic Church.
Henry Munoz Jr, Daniel Munoz, Anthony Munoz, Adam Munoz, Thomas Munoz and Christopher Munoz will serve as pallbearers.
