Lee was born in Hamilton, Texas on July 12, 1948 to Roth and Edna (Witzsche) Robertson. He graduated from Goldthwaite High School in 1966. He obtained a degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Petroleum Engineering and from UTPB with a Master’s in BA. Lee married Nancy Temple on Sept. 13, 1969. They were married for 47 years until his death.
He worked 35 years as an oilfield production engineer in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Lee served with the Army Reserves for 12 years. He enjoyed ranching, woodworking, and metalworking.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Diane Hess, of Houston; daughter, Karen Robertson of Midland; grandchildren, Katelyn Lee Hess and AJ Hess and by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6–8 pm on Sunday, March 12, at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland and at 6-8 pm Monday March 13 at Stacy Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm at the Stacy Wilkins Chapel. Burial will follow at the Rock Springs Cemetery.
