Socorro L. Ramos

Socorro L. Ramos was born to Manuel and Maria Levario on June 13, 1925 in Terlingua, Texas. As a young child she moved to Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, where she was raised. Around 1945 she moved to Alpine, Texas where she met and married Miguel Francisco Ramos. They had four sons; Joe Frank, Miguel A., Oscar and Jose Noe Ramos. Socorro’s family moved to Midland in the early 1950’s. She loved gardening and ranching. She loved her family very much and always welcomed friends into her home. Socorro loved to cook and left a legacy of her cooking to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Miguel A. Ramos; two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by sons, Joe Frank Ramos and wife Alicia; Oscar Ramos; Jose Noe Ramos; brother, Pablo Levario, and sister, Josefina L. Moreno as well as her niece Delia Rodriguez, who she helped raise, all of Midland, TX. Also surviving Socorro are six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. A Rosary will be held at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, March 21, 2011 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Edward deLeon OMI officiating.
