She was born on May 27, 1961. Tammy had a soul like no other full of adventure, generosity, love and kindness. In 1999, she met her husband and best friend of 18 years, Dennis. They built a life together along with their blended family of six children and took on the responsibility of raising four of their grandchildren.
Tammy had the ability to nurture those who needed it and it showed. Devoting her life to others was an easy choice for Tammy. The Ft Worth newspaper even wrote an article about her commitment to her job and knowledge about bartending.
Tammy or “Nanny” to her grandchildren was always the life of the party. She had a presence that shined anywhere she went. She usually made her best memories during the annual Reed family reunion taking pleasure in camping with her family and always being the one to keep spirits high during the inevitable disasters on our trips. She always said, “We’re still camping!” with her lighthearted sense of humor. Tammy could make a joke out of any bad situation. Even in her final days she remained in good spirits.
Tammy is preceded in death by her father and two brothers.
She is survived by her loving husband; mother; two brothers; sister; three sons and their wives; three daughters, 21 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a friend of 43 years she considered to be her sister.
Tammy’s values, humor and generosity will live on through everyone that knew her. She was loved by all and will be truly missed by her immediate and extended family and friends.
There will be a memorial service at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s cancer research at www.stjude.org would be appreciated.
