

Thomas Henry Montgomery Thomas "Slim" Henry Montgomery was born on June 24, 1930 in Midland, TX. He was raised in Marfa, Alpine, and Del Rio where he lived on a farm. Thomas "Slim" & Frances were married on July 14, 1950. Thomas served in the US Army from 1951 until 1953. Thomas and Frances resided in Midland, TX from 1954 until 2010. Soon after coming to Midland, he worked in the oil field and for City Transfer and Storage. Thomas was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where he worked as a landscaper and handyman of the church before retirement in 1992. He joins his parents, Katie Shelburne Montgomery and Thomas Dickson Montgomery; his wife, Frances Jean Montgomery; his eldest son, Johnie Mack Montgomery; his sisters, Elizabeth J. Eaton and Eva Beth Carter who have already gone to be with the Lord. Survivors include his three sons and their wives, Lonny and Nella Montgomery of Hallettsville, TX, Steve and Julie Montgomery of Midland, and Dennis and Debbie Montgomery of Greenwood and daughter-in-law, Terry Montgomery Blake of Houston. He was PawPaw to his grandchildren and their spouses, Mary and Michael David of Houston, Kimberlea Montgomery of Midland, Emily and Mick Lesko of Frisco, Ross Montgomery and Mason Montgomery of Midland and Andrea and Fred Gibson of Knoxville, TN. Dear to his heart were seven great-grandchildren: Mackenzie and Molly David and Tristan, Mickaela and Elijah Lesko and Charlie and Olivia Gibson, as well as nieces, and a nephew. He went to be with the Lord on November 19, 2014. His faithful service to his Lord and Savior, his family, his church and all those who knew him will never be forgotten. Funeral services have been scheduled for 9:00 A.M. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Ross Montgomery, Mason Montgomery and Eddie Bowman. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
