

Wendy Joyce “Stormie” Savage, born June 19, 1972, in Austin, Texas, was a woman of deep intellect, creativity, and unwavering determination. Known affectionately as “Stormie” Wendy lived a life marked by curiosity, service, and love for her family and community.
Wendy graduated from Midland High School and continued her education at Midland College. Her lifelong love of learning fueled an impressive career and led to countless accomplishments and professional certifications over the years. She was a business owner, consultant, and self-employed professional, and also served as a Senior Geotechnical Specialist at Whiting Oil & Gas. Wendy devoted many years to serving the oil and gas industry through numerous professional groups, earning the respect of colleagues and peers alike.
In 2004, Wendy met the love of her life, Robert Eugene Savage Jr., at work. They were married on March 3, 2007, in Las Vegas at Circus Circus, beginning a partnership built on mutual respect, humor, and shared ambition.
Wendy was a devoted member of Elevate Church, where she found community and spiritual grounding. Outside of work, she embraced a wide range of interests, including art, geology, stock investing (Robert called her the “stock whisperer”), home improvement, fishing, DIY projects, reading, and continuous learning. Whatever Wendy pursued, she did so with passion and excellence.
She shared a special bond with her beloved pets, including Buster, who passed in 2025 at the age of 18, and Ruger, her cherished Shorty Russell.
Wendy is survived by her loving husband, Robert Eugene Savage Jr. of Midland; her sons, Kagen Lee Rainey of Midland, Billy Michael Savage and wife Shannon of Midland, and Robert Eugene Savage III and wife Kristina of Greenwood; her daughter, Dacey Joyce Taylor and husband Chris of Midland; her parents, Candy Roe of Midland and Jackie Rainey of Aransas Pass; her brothers, Dylan Roe and wife Becka of Midland and Buddy Rainey of Dallas; her sister, Brandy McGuire of Midland; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her brilliant mind, fierce independence, generous heart, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
