William (Junior) Edward Robertson, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Wednesday January 30. He was born on November 14, 1951 in St. Joseph, Missouri to wonderful parents Bill & Wanda Robertson. A family friend introduced him to racing, which led him to racing cars before he was even legal to drive them. His passion for racing took him on many adventures throughout his life, racing on dirt and asphalt tracks all over the United States. He raced car #26 and made many memories, friends, & enemies in that car. Junior graduated from Lee High School in 1971 and was soon after drafted to the United States Army where he served in Germany until honorably discharged in 1974. Junior married the love of his life, Linda, in 1979. Linda and Junior would have celebrated their 40th anniversary in June. Together they had two loving sons, Toby and Dustin. Junior's love for racing kept him racing and working on cars almost the remainder of his life. There wasn't a piece of equipment that Junior couldn't operate. When asked if he could run a certain piece of equipment, Junior would often say, "If it has hydraulics, I can run it." He received a kidney transplant in May of 2018. He recovered exceptionally well and was able to continue doing what he loved for many months. Junior was a tough, hard working man who loved being around family, tending to his donkeys, and staying up late every Wednesday night with his poker buddies. He was the absolute best husband, father and grandfather, and leaves behind a legacy that will remain long after his passing. Junior is preceded in death by his father, Bill Robertson, his father in law, Jack Towery, his brother in law Gary Gill, his sister in law Vickie Gill, and his best friend and racing buddy Greg Vines. Junior is survived by his adoring mother, Wanda Robertson, his loving wife, Linda Robertson, proud son Toby Robertson (Lawren), proud son Dustin Robertson (Stephanie), loving sister Lawanda (Charlie), four spoiled grandchildren, Kesmond, Addisyn, Matalin, and Kacey, and multiple brother and sister in laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, and an aunt, and his dog Little Bill. Junior is loved and admired beyond words by his family and will be greatly missed. Reminiscing on many of Junior's favorite movie quotes, one of his all time favorites was from the movie Tombstone: "I'll be your Huckleberry." Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 2:00pm at Greenwood Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in memory of Junior to the National Kidney Foundation. Donations can be made online at kidney.org or by mail to National Kidney Foundation, Inc. 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016
