ZIRKEL, Ada Jane Marsh, 68, of Richmond, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on June 24, 2014. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Frederick J. Zirkel; son, Frederick Joseph Zirkel and his daughters, Summer and Lily Zirkel; daughter, Pamela Hicks and her children, Zoe and Cameron Hicks; sister, Sarah Marsh; brother, David Marsh; and stepmother, Dale Marsh. Jane earned her B.A. degree in Journalism from the University of Kentucky in 1967 and married her husband on October 21 of that year. She worked for CBS and Rand McNally prior to becoming a mother and resumed working at Mitre and Concept 5 after her children left the home. She cherished being a wife, mother and grandmother and also loved bridge, crossword puzzles, reading novels, technology and her friends. She was a Lutheran.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation of Virginia (www.lupusofva.org). Online condolences to WoodyFuneralHomeHuguenot.com.
