

STEELE, Alice G., 90, of Midlothian, died May 2, 2013. Survivors include her beloved animals, Smooch and Dusty (the dogs), Isabella (the cat), and all the dolphins at The Dolphin Research Center, Grassey Key, Florida; her daughter, Ellen Lipps; son-in-law, Doug Lipps; niece, Shirley Snider Mustard and her husband, The Rev. Tom Mustard; great-niece, Molly Marie Mustard McAuliffe, her husband Mike, and their children, Max Mikell McAuliffe and Mason Montgomery McAuliffe; great-niece, Martha Michele Mustard Cade and her children, Brian Harris Cade, Sarah Tillet Cade and Zachary Thomas Cade; niece, Harriett Ireson Harper; and cousins, Anne Johnson Davis (husband Bob), Mona Johnson Estes (husband Robert), Major Bill Johnson (wife Aliye), Carol Lee Johnson, and Karen Johnson Bennett. Mrs. Steele was a 1944 graduate of M.C.V. and served as a U.S. Army nurse during World War II from 1944-45 in Japan and The Philippines. In 1962, she graduated from the Norfolk General Hospital Anesthesia Program. She volunteered for 20 years at the Dolphin Research Center and was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church in Midlothian.
