Allan Linwood Butler

Allan Linwood Butler passed away peacefully Thursday, August 31, 2023. Allan was born March 6, 1937, in Orange County, VA where he grew up. Allan graduated from Virginia Polytechnical Institute in 1959. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, tending to his koi fishpond, and rooting for the Hokies. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Tucker Butler. Survivors include his son, Mark A. Butler; daughter, Susan B. Scribner; grandchildren, Zach Scribner, Bethany Scribner, and Ross Butler; and dear friends. The family would like to thank Jan’s Helping Hands for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at Woody’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will be hosted at Westhampton Memorial Park at noon, Friday, September 8, 2023, followed by a service at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel, with a reception to follow.
