Anne Hoffman Reese

Reese, Anne H., passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on September 12, 2014 at the age of 62. She is survived by her loving husband, Dick; sons, Billy (Mary) and Tommy; daughter, Elizabeth; sister, Jane (Curt); brother, Bob (Cathy); grandsons, Zachary and Luke; and countless friends both near and far. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frances Hoffman.

A 1974 graduate of Indiana University, Anne taught sixth grade in Darien, Connecticut and put herself through graduate school at Fairfield University before relocating to Virginia in 1987 to raise her family with Dick. Anne believed strongly in the power of education and devoted her time to volunteering with P.E.O., an organization dedicated to promoting educational opportunities for women, serving as Chapter President and co-chairing the statewide convention in 2013.

Anne lived well, loved well, and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 20 at 11:00 AM at Salisbury Presbyterian Church at 13621 W Salisbury Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113. A reception will follow at Salisbury Country Club at 13620 W Salisbury Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in remembrance of Anne to the P.E.O. Executive Office, Treasurer's Dept., 3700 Grande Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312 (checks designated to the Mary Pinkerton Scholarship Fund), or to The American Cancer Society.
