Caroline McClevy Robertson

Caroline was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church from childhood attending services there with her father. She was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She enjoyed a long career as a librarian working for the Richmond Public Library and as Assistant Director of the Chesterfield County Libraries.

A devoted supporter of liberal arts, Caroline belonged to the Virginia Historical Society, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, The Woman’s Club of Richmond and Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She was blessed with lifelong friendships and a love of travel that took her to Europe, South America and Alaska.

Caroline was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alfred Sage Robertson. She is survived by her children: Catherine R. Ratliff and her husband Michael, William S. Robertson and his wife Nancy, Margaret R. Schmidt and her husband Richard; Her sister Lucile M. Gates; Three grandchildren: Sarah R. Herbert and her husband Graham, W. Sage Robertson, and M. Taylor Ratliff and one great grandchild: Braden G. Herbert.

There will be a memorial service on July 30th, 2015 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 6000 Grove Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23226 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private.
