Barbara,
You may not remember me but I was in Charlie's class in Petersburg High School and also in engineering school at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. My Dad was City Engineer in Petersburg when Charlie was young, and Charlie worked for my Dad as Petersburg's first Planning & Traffic Engineer, before he left to work for W&W in Lynchburg. I remember Charlie as a gracious and humble Southern gentleman and a brilliant civil engineer. 
     My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, as we pray for God's peace and blessings for you all.

Dear Barbara and Family:
Our prayers and thoughts are with you in this time of mourning.It was a pleasure to work for and later with Charlie for over 15 years.He was a giving and outgoing person and one of the most unselfish people I ever knew.Whether we were giving presentations to the Petersburg City Council or Fishing at Nags Head, he was always a pleasure to be around.Everyone who knew Charlie will miss him dearly.-

Dear Barbara and Family,
I am so sorry to learn of Charlie's death. I have many fond memories of Charlie, but will always remember the card games we used to have at your house when you lived in Lynchburg. Charlie was always wishing to be in front in planning things, whatever the subject, so I expect he will continue to do so. You and the family are in our prayers.
