Claire Clarke Hines

CLAIRE CLARKE HINES Born on the Fourth of July, 1927 to Creston and Agnes Clarke, Claire Clarke Hines completed the journey of this life on January 19, 2019 surrounded by three generations of her devoted family. She is preceded by her husband of more than 60 years, the late Carl Hines. Claire is survived by her children, Ken Hines, Carol Bowen, Carla Klein and Chris Hines, along with ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A lifelong Richmonder, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, earned a degree in Physical Therapy at MCV, and worked at McGuire’s Veterans Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital. But her true calling was caring for her family. She was an active member of Reveille United Methodist Church throughout her adult life. As a volunteer at the Hermitage well into her eighties, she modelled the importance of community service. The family will gather for a memorial service at Reveille at 1 pm on February 1. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
