

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. Cooper; her father, Karl Emile Wagner; her mother, Rose (Rieger) Wagner; and by her brother, Herman Wagner.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Pica and her husband, Gabriel Pica of Moseley, Virginia; a son, Karl Cooper and his wife Lise of Wilmington, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Jennifer Abla and her husband Scott, Elizabeth Cooper, Harry Cooper and Erin Bariteau and her husband Phillip; a number of nieces and nephews; and many very special friends.
She was born on December 5, 1933 in Pennsylvania until she was ten years old when she and her family moved to Washington, DC. She worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Federal Government for approximately 5 years and spent the remainder of her life as a devoted wife and mother, as a volunteer in many schools and organizations and as a Girl Scout Leader.
She loved to sew and to make beautiful quilts, to embroider and to garden. She loved being outdoors and taking her daily walks. She was very active in the Lutheran Church throughout her life. She and her husband, Louis, were founding members of Grace and Glory Lutheran Church. Her faith and family were the center of her heart.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA 23113, 804-794-1000. A celebration of her life will be conducted on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 2pm at the Lutheran Church of our Saviour, 9601 Hull Street Road, North Chesterfield, VA by the Reverend Scott Benson. A private graveside service will be conducted on Friday, November 8, 2024 at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, Virginia.
