My dear sister-friend Gail, Tisha, and Jasmine, my heart breaks with you and for you. Darius truly was a perfect son. He even accepted my Facebook comments whenever his picture was posted good naturedly. What a loss, someone so good, gone far too soon. Take strength in knowing that “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. “ Prayers and love for each of you.

With love and condolences,
Your sister-friend-Gloria 🙏🏾

There aren’t enough words to describe Darius. Darius was loving, loyal, and persistent. He was able to create safe spaces for everyone he met, making sure everyone felt comfortable and welcomed. He was truly everyone’s favorite person. We can’t express enough gratitude for being able to have spent so much time with him and we are so thankful to his family for welcoming us with open arms whenever we would go to your house to eat, talk, and debate because those were our favorite moments. Darius was really our best friend and we are so deeply saddened by this. But we are thinking of you guys always, he loved his family so much and it showed. Praying for his family and friends.

To The Gillus Family,
Y’all were one of the first families we met here in Virginia when we moved from England in 2002. We feel so honored to have known Darius and to have had the chance to make memories with him and your family. Although Darius was younger than Chase, he always had Chase’s back, he And Jasmine have always been good friends to Chase.
I can not think of a time when Darius didn’t have his iconic smile on his face. Peace be with you all in knowing how much Darius is loved by all! All our love and prayers!

Words alone could never adequately express the grief and sadness the entire Huggins family feels concerning Darius’s passing. We had the privilege of watching Darius grow from boyhood to manhood. And what an amazing man he grew to become. Kind, respectful, thoughtful and filled with joy are but a few of the words that describe Darius. Darius’s life, while cut way to short, will have a lasting positive impact on all of us who knew and loved him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Gillus family at this most difficult time. God Bless and we love you all!
