He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian June Thurston Goin and his father, James W. Goin, Sr.
He is survived by his loving partner of many years, Darlene Hedrick; his only child, Joshua Joseph Goin; brothers, James Jr. and Noah; and sisters, Theresa and Charlotte.
David was born in Virginia on November 17, 1962, where he resided all his life, spending the last twenty-plus years in Amelia. David worked for Woodman Heating where he retired, then opened his own heating and air company in 2000, A&G Heating and Air, Inc.
David was an avid hunter, loved fishing, 80's rock music and enjoyed his vacations to the Outer Banks.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who were so loving and attentive to David and to his many friends who stepped up to help when he couldn't attend to daily activities any longer. You are so loved and appreciated.
