She is survived by her daughter, Cathy L. Hamersley, of Chesterfield; her sister, Jean Jernigan, of Midlothian; grandchildren, Chad Adams (Lori), Preston Dickerson, and Michael Hamersley (Mary); great grandchildren, Tyler Adams, Madelyn Adams, and Jackson Hamersley. The family wishes to give a special thanks to April Easter, her loyal caregiver of 5.5 years.
She was a member of the Midlothian Garden Club, Midlothian Extension Homemakers, Midlothian Eastern Star #85, and Bethlehem Baptist Church. Dorothy was a hairdresser at “Dots Beauty Shop”.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 9600 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, Va 23235, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church.
